EME Aero has handed over a training aircraft engine for the School Complex No. 2 in Łańcut

On April 28th the representatives of EME Aero company together with the representatives of Łańcut County and School Complex No. 2 in Łańcut officially signed an agreement to hand over an aircraft engine that will be used in the education process in the faculty of Aircraft Mechanic Technician. The engine will be located in the County Vocational Training Cente, located next to the School in Łańcut.

Handover of the training engine is the next step in the process of education of future Engine Mechanics. It will allow to gain practical knowledge and skills in servicing aircraft engines already at the stage of school conditions.

– From now on, the students of our patronage classes will be able to learn in practice both the technical documentation related to the aircraft engine, as well as the operation of its individual modules and toolingsays Derrick Siebert, CEO, Managing Director of Business at EME Aero– I am convinced that this will be a very valuable experience for them – he adds.

Practical workshops are the part of innovative learning program, that is also supported by County Governor’s Office in Łańcut. Cooperation between education (nie dawałam science bo chyba nie o to chodzi) and business sectors is the basis of economic development. We are glad that EME Aero so actively supports vocational education in our region – says Adam Krzysztoń, the County Governor of Łańcut.

Aleksandra Szafraniec, EME Aero HR & Communication Director, pointed out that among the students of Aircraft Mechanic Technician there are some of the future employees of the company. – The knowledge and skills gained during the work on the aircraft engine already at the high school level, will allow to further improve technical competences of the graduates, within the development program offered by EME Aero.

– Today’s meeting is a very important step in the development of cooperation that the school and EME Aero company have been conducting for over two years within the framework of patronage classes – points out Bogusław Blajer, Director of School Complex No. 2 in Łańcut. – Students of technical faculties rarely have an opportunity to work with such advanced equipment already in the secondary school. I hope that our additionally enriched educational offer will attract a lot of interest among this year’s graduates of elementary schools in the region – he adds.

EME Aero repairs Pratt & Whitney GTF PW1100 series aircraft engines. The investment located in Jasionka is one of the largest and most technologically advanced service plants in the world for the latest generation of aircraft engines. The company established cooperation with the School Complex No. 2 in Łańcut at the beginning of 2019. As part of the activities to date, the school and the company have jointly developed a training curriculum, adapted the technical English language program to meet the requirements of technical documentation, equipped the school with many educational and training materials, and conduct lessons in the form of webinars on aviation topics.

EME Aero is a joint venture between two leading aerospace companies, Lufthansa Technik AG (50%) and MTU Aero Engines AG (50%). The common initiative resulted in the idea of establishing one of the most modern MRO service centers for the latest generation of geared turbofan engines (GTF) of the PW1000G series.

The state-of-the-art facility is located in southeastern Poland, in Jasionka near Rzeszow. The company started operations in January 2020. Full operational readiness of EME Aero is planned for 2026, the estimated capacity of the plant is 450 service visits per year. The newly established center will employ more than 1,000 skilled employees.
