Services for PW1000G aircraft engines

The new EME Aero engine facility will handle the maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) services of the latest generation of Pratt & Whitney GTF engines. The facility is scheduled to be up and running in 2020, with a planned annual capacity of more than 450 shop visits of PW1000G series geared turbofans. EME Aero will have full capability for PW1100G, PW1500G and PW1900G engines, including overhaul, maintenance, restoration of productivity and some types of repair. After disassembly, cleaning, inspection, repairs and reassembly, the engines will undergo further diagnostics before being tested in the one of the most advanced test cells in Europe.

The PurePower® PW1000G engine with Geared Turbofan™ technology delivers game-changing reductions in: fuel burn, environmental emissions, engine noise and operating costs. In the PW1000G engine family, a state of the art gear system separates the engine fan from the low pressure compressor and turbine, allowing each of the modules to operate at their optimum speeds. This enables the fan to rotate slower and while the low pressure compressor and turbine operate at higher speeds, increasing engine efficiency and delivering significantly lower fuel consumption, emissions and noise. This increased efficiency also translates to fewer engine stages and parts, for lower weight and reduced maintenance costs. EME Aero, with a workforce of 1000 in the newly built facility in Poland, in Jasionka close to the city of Rzeszów, will be the geared turbofan specialist of choice.

Cleaning and inspection

Environmentally friendly facility

The EME Aero service center will be equipped with an automated cleaning line and a non-destructive testing laboratory, where engine parts can inspected and verified. The activities performed in the service center will include tests using computer-assisted measuring equipment and advanced FPI, MPI, US and EC procedures.
