Information about EME Aero
EME Aero is a joint venture between Lufthansa Technik and MTU Aero Engines. These two leading aviation companies are building one of the most advanced GTF MRO aircraft engine service centers in Southeastern Poland. The new facility will overhaul geared turbofan PW engines operated by Lufthansa and other airlines.
There will be around 1000 employees at the state-of-the-art facility in Jasionka, close to the city of Rzeszów. The facility is scheduled to be up and running in 2020, with a planned annual capacity of more than 450 shop visits by PW 1000G engines. The new shop will have a key role in the GTF MRO network.
The experience of two major players
Both partners to the joint venture will contribute their know-how and experience to setting up the new facility, to be based upon state of the art technologies and standards. EME Aero will incorporate Lufthansa Technik experience, covering more than 50 years, as well as continuing to operate as one of the most advanced GTF MRO providers, based on the most modern technologies to deliver the maximum benefit to the customer. With MTU's vast experience, technical expertise and advanced market understanding, EME Aero is going to be the geared turbofan specialist of choice.

Minimum of 450 engines shop visits per year
When production commences at the beginning of 2020, EME Aero will start to provide GTF MRO services for Airbus A320neo, Bombardier C series and Embrayer EJet for Lufthansa and other airlines. Capacity will be ramped up slowly, and a state-of-the-art test cell will be created. Once completed, the EME Aero facility will be one of the most advanced and the most efficient engine shops worldwide, thanks to the unique flow line and efficient administration.
A state-of-the-art MRO facility is created
